This year, India will be celebrating the
24th anniversary of Kargil
Vijay Diwas. Every year, on July 26, we honour and commemorate the
might of our armed forces, who, while facing innumerable challenges
and overcoming extremely unfavourable conditions, took back our land
from rival’s control and reinstated the tri-colour flag at its
rightful place.
We, at Narayana Educational Institutions, also celebrated Kargil
Vijay Diwas on July 25 with great enthusiasm and fervour. Over 200
Narayana schools across India organised special programmes such as
speeches, dance performances, and essay-writing competitions to
educate students more about this very important part of our nation’s
history.
There was a visible passion, excitement, and eagerness among both the
participating and non-participating students. Speeches given by
students were filled with patriotic ardour, dance performances were
intense, and essays written by students displayed their detailed
understanding of the events that transpired throughout the 3-month
fierce war.
War veterans of Kargil were invited to a special programme organised
by the Amritsar branches of the Narayana Educational Institutions,
where they were presented with a memento as a token of appreciation
for the extraordinary role they played. Brig. Sudhir Kumar, Deputy
GOC, 15 Infantry Division, was the distinguished chief guest, while
Col. Balwan Singh MVC and Col. RP Singh were our distinguished
guests of honour.
Families of students and school staff were cordially invited to this
grand three-hour morning event. As proud members of this great
nation, this occasion provided parents with an opportunity to instil
a sense of patriotism in their children's hearts and educate them
about the moral duty of honouring and showing respect to the armed
forces.
A momentous interaction took place as distinguished guests from the
army unit engaged with our students, providing invaluable insights
into the armed forces and inspiring them to chase their dreams of
joining their ranks. The stirring presentation encompassed the
entire saga of the Kargil War, leaving the students enlightened and
motivated to honour the bravery of our soldiers. It was a day of
knowledge, inspiration, and a shared vision of a brighter future for
our nation.
Director, Dr. P. Sindhura, stated that at Narayana Educational
Institutions, we make it our priority that students, while aiming
for academic excellence, also have a comprehensive understanding of
significant events in the history of our country. The victory at
Kargil on July 26, 1999, was the perfect display of skills, bravery,
and valour by the Indian Armed Forces, and we wanted to celebrate it
with all the glory it deserves. She also appreciated the lively
participation of all the students, teachers, and supporting staff.
The successful events that were organised gave our students a chance
to display their appreciation for the armed forces through different
mediums. Through these experiences, students gained a deeper
understanding of important historical events. At Narayana
Educational Institutions, we are committed to promoting
comprehensive education for our students, which includes instilling
values such as respect and pride for our armed forces.
